Get ready for some mind-blowing information! What I am about to share might be the most impacting new product in the entire health arena! Some think that Dr. Warburg’s Nobel Prize was due to discovering that lack of oxygen was the cause of cancer. But what Warburg actually discovered was that cancerous cells were low in oxygen BECAUSE free radicals had changed those cells into a state of dependence on fermenting sugars for energy, and THAT was why oxygen was being choked out of the healthy cell. Without glucose, they starve to death! When we eat sugars and carbohydrates, they turn into glucose in the body, as do most “processed” foods. Glucose is a simple sugar with the molecular formula C6H12O6. There are many variations of cancer, but whether the cancerous cells were induced by carcinogenic agents or by an unhealthy diet, cancer cells must feed on glucose to continue growing.
Unfortunately, the typical modern American diet and lifestyle provide the average person with an over-abundant supply of glucose. Hence, the rising cancer rate AND the rising obesity rate!
Remember, glucose is a form of sugar. Most people don't realize that sugar is an addictive substance. That's why it is so hard to "give up". But, it is a "legal" addiction with "legal" pushers. We are bombarded on every front with advertising pushing some form of sugar in every advertising media that exists, 24/7.
Not only that, of the 600,000 processed food items on grocery shelves, 80% of them force hidden sugar on us in some form, whether it be corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, fructose, sucrose, maltose, dextrose, or some other -ose. Sugar is not just a treat to the taste buds. It produces a biochemical drive that can "hijack" the brain chemistry to make us crave more sugar.
At the turn of the last century, there was only cane sugar, sorghum, honey, molasses and maple syrup. The average American consumed approximately two pounds of sugar a year. And, only 1 in 20 might be diagnosed with a cancer. Today, with some form of addictive sugar in snacks, cereal, pasta, bread, thousands of other packaged foods, and a quarter pound of sugar in the average teen's daily soda intake, we dump from 70 pounds to 150 pounds of sugar a year into our bodies for our immune system to fight! The result? Today, 1 in 3 are diagnosed with some form of cancer.
The body and the brain can SWITCH from using glucose for energy to using “ketones” for energy (good fats), depending on what you feed it. Ketones are organic compounds that are actually a preferred source of fuel by the body and the brain in place of glucose. Ketones are associated with the “good” healthy fats. Here is an over-simplified explanation of a complex process. Your body (and your brain) burn glucose for fuel because that’s what they are normally given. When you take in more glucose (sugar & carbs) than your body needs, it is stored up as "back-up” fat. Your body has to burn through all the glucose you feed it daily, and still require more, before it will start burning the stored-up fat. (It’s not just eating less. It’s also WHAT you eat.)
But, when your diet causes your body to switch from glucose to ketones as an energy source, not only do cancer cells start dying, but your body is no longer getting such a large daily supply of glucose. So, with the aid of the ketones, it begins burning up the stored fat. In addition to starving cancer cells, the “side effects” of ketones are that you lose fat, increase your energy, and give your body AND your brain a more healthy energy source! Of course, exercise speeds up the fat burning process.
